ACTIVE INGREDIENT
IGF-1 LR3
Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), also known as Somatomedin C, is a hormone that closely resembles insulin in its molecular structure. Vital for growth during childhood, it also boasts anabolic properties for adults, making it a key player in muscle development.
Produced primarily in the liver, IGF-1 is synthesized in multiple tissues throughout the body and consists of 70 amino acids connected by disulfide bridges, alongside a C peptide region of 12 amino acids.
USAGEIGF-1 is essential for the natural growth and development of bones and tissues. It also plays a role in lowering blood glucose levels and targeting fat cells, promoting fat burning and consequently increasing lean body mass while reducing fat. These attributes make it particularly appealing to athletes and bodybuilders. While elevated IGF-1 levels can lead to weight gain, this increase is mainly due to enhanced lean body mass rather than fat accumulation.
In the fitness community, IGF-1 is prized for its ability to improve recovery times after workouts and boost energy levels during exercise. It?s commonly administered to both adults and children with growth hormone deficiencies, offering critical support for those not meeting expected growth rates.
Research suggests that the anabolic effects of IGF-1 may be linked to decreased protein degradation and enhanced protein synthesis in skeletal muscle, aiding in the healing of burns and other tissue irregularities.
MECHANISM OF ACTIONAs a naturally occurring hormone in the bloodstream, IGF-1 primarily mediates the effects of growth hormone throughout the body. Its essential functions include promoting tissue and bone growth, impacting a wide range of cells including those in bones, cartilage, skeletal muscles, liver, kidneys, nerves, skin, and lungs. Additionally, IGF-1 influences cellular DNA synthesis, enhancing its multifaceted role in growth and development.
ADMINISTRATIONIGF-1 is typically administered via subcutaneous injection in a fleshy area, such as the abdomen, but can also be given intramuscularly. Ensure a clean and sterile syringe is used:
- Position the IGF-1 vial upright and insert the syringe into the cap's center.
- Pull the plunger to draw the desired amount (refer to the ?Dosage? section), then carefully remove the syringe.
- Clean the injection site with alcohol.
- Pinch the skin around the injection site, leaving about 2 cm on each side.
- Hold the syringe at a 90-degree angle to the skin and insert quickly.
- Fully press the plunger until the syringe is empty, then withdraw carefully.
Recommended Dosage for Lean Muscle Growth and Fat Loss:
- 40 mcg - 50 mcg daily For Men:
- 10 mcg - 20 mcg daily For Women:
IGF-1 should not be injected more than twice a day, with typical dosage cycles lasting 2 to 12 weeks. Children and adults prescribed IGF-1 for growth deficiencies should consult their healthcare provider for tailored dosing guidelines.
SIDE EFFECTSWhile IGF-1 offers numerous benefits, potential side effects may include excessive body tissue growth (acromegaly) and risks to joints, liver, and heart health. Other possible side effects are joint pain, muscle discomfort, headaches, and nausea. IGF-1 may also lower blood sugar levels, leading to hypoglycemia, and has been associated with an increased risk of certain cancers, including lung, breast, colorectal, and prostate cancers.
